Sue started out her working life in banking, followed by stints in law and then Pest Control. Paul (originally a farmer) has ventured into the world of grain trading but still has a pedigree herd of Long Horn Cattle keeping in with the farming tradition.

Abi spent her final studies at Newcastle University studying Agricultural Business Management, graduating in 2025, she is now travelling Australia, New Zealand and the Far East.

We have a real passion for the countryside, rural life and our animals. Guests will meet Rhubarb and Revel the horses alongside Bella the pig (who has a racing car named after her).

Our cattle spend their days in the back field, if stopping in The Granary or The Stables you’ll have a perfect view of them.

Hattie, Nell and Margot, our family dogs provide us with much entertainment. We also have a few chickens, a duck and a goose.

I am sure that you will come across some of our extended family during your stay at Birdforth Hall.
